Overview
From Paula Curtis Collection[1]: This initiative is a resource for understanding Japanese media and popular culture through some of the most important and interesting celebrities and characters in recent years. It is organized through “keywords” and “case studies” to entice readers to think critically about the gap between them without naturalizing the conceptual or essentializing the empirical—to forge a new dialogue in the space of this gap beyond mere exemplification or application. It contains over 50 keyword essays intended to push for and promote more critical engagements with Japanese media and popular culture in the classroom and beyond.
