Overview
From Paula Curtis Collection[1]: KCI(KOREA CITATION INDEX) is the system to analyze citation relationship among papers by constructing a database of information from domestic journal, papers (including full-text) and references.
KCI can be used as a tool to evaluate the qualitative level of the journals issued in a particular subject area because it can calculate various statistical data needed to manage research resources and the impact of the journal by citation frequency as well as provide various academic information on domestic journals and papers.
You can used it as an objective data to identify the level by academic area and to evaluate the performance of researchers by analyzing the citation relationship of the papers covered in domestic journals. This allows us to identify the research trend and the level of related academic areas, to improve the research efficiency, to inspire research motivation of researchers and to improve the quality of domestic journals.
KCI can also be used as a basic data for selecting of various research fund investment fields or establishing research strategies, and furthermore, is expected to serve as a driving force for raising the level of domestic academic research and the level of domestic journals to the world level.
