Noh as Intermedia

Overview

From Paula Curtis Collection[1]: This project showcases the ‘togetherness’ of text, visuals and music in Japan’s Noh theater as “intermedia.” Whereas the individual artistic elements of Noh have been studied extensively, the interaction between them not nearly as much. This project is intended to contribute to the understanding and appreciation of Noh by narrowing this gap. It offers in-depth intermedia analysis of two plays, introductions to elements of Noh, and a general discussion about Noh as intermedia.
